yesterday's event was wonderful in many ways. I am only mentioning stuff that I learnt out of yesterday's experience. I felt myself open up a little more in the jam session. I am still getting accustomed to understanding the other instruments and responding to them. but the jam session worked out just perfect for me. more than half a dozen people on and off stage trying to balance out "their expression" with "their response" to the sounds they are hearing around. so I used the sounds around as a continuous stream of inspiration to start my vocals, and everytime I went out of thoughts in my head, I heard a little, then started again, ran dry, heard some more, and sang some more. I cant say that I have never tried it before, but yesterday, I think I got the process of jamming quite satisfactorily. the crowd was overwhelming. got to hear some very innovative stuff. learnt how you have to kind of tune and retune yourself to every genre on stage. it isnt an overt effort to like and be passionate about all forms/facets of music. but at least expose yourself to every form. then let your brain/heart/mind/soul decide for you, if you want to go with it or no. give every form a chance.

very well expressed...felt quite the same... especially for playin muscians,wen jammin up,we had2 consider the value of each instrument thats playin n hav2 adjust ourselves to get in evrybodyz sound together... especially if thers a delicate n soft instrument as the flute alongwith guitars,drums,bass n stuff..then u g2 b spontaneous n value the ethnicity of that instrument while jammin up..n not look at one's own sound... but twaz a gr8 experience..thanks to all!!!
