Do leave in your names below as a comment in this forum thread to reserve a slot for the performer's session for The 7th session of the M.L.U.all performers will be finalised only through this forum.

READ THROUGH BELOW BEFORE SIGNING UP:

INFO ONLY FOR PERFORMER'S SIGNING UP FOR THE PERFORMANCE SESSION:
10 slots of 15 mins each (includes sound check)
Performance slots will be filled as per 'First Cum First Serve' basis
+2 slots for back-up incase any band/artist backs out on last minute
A minimum donation of 30rs would be appreciated to cover up the expenditure involved for usage of equipment and resources

Performer's are to bring their own instruments and cables to connect them.
They are to follow the stage setup rules as laid by the Sound setup Heads to avoid any mishaps and undesirable sound

Performer's are NOT permitted to publicize their performance at the M.L.U session as 
'Their own GIG'..It should be could publicized in the following format:
 "________ is performing at the M.L.U session 7 on __date,venue"

Breach of any instructions & rules of conduct will be judged & taken action against by the 'Core team' and their decision shall be final.

Drum kit  list of components shall be confirmed soon

Additional Cables/cords(only for backup) : only 4nos

 

4 additional mics:

ie: 1guitar mic+stand , 

1overheadmic+stand  

1 vocal mic+stand  , 

1 bass drum mic/normal mic

 

Amps/stage monitors

1 guitar amp

1 bass amp

1 keyboard amp


Existing Setup at venue :

1 technician (thats human )

6mics, 24 channel mixer, 2 heavy duty stage monitors


Audio recording- behringer mixer input(yet to be confirmed)
Video recording - (yet to be confirmed)

Photography - Rj (last MLU photographer)

just to add to what rolins has already stated above, performing groups list will be reviewed and regenerated every day till before 1 week of the event...after that no changes will be done. cheers!!!
the current list is as follows:
1. student band of 'be3 school of music'
2. mohd. ansaar quartet
3. quantity not sufficient
4. scribble pad
5. radial dispersion

 5 regulation slots + 2 standby slots remain ... so hurry!!!

We had initially thought that having 12-15 minutes per band is not sufficient. But there is another thought: When artists/architects (hmmmm the "creative people")  are given a platform they tend to be so self-absorbed that they occupy as much time as they can get and that is done at the expense of others. In many presentations which some of us architects have attended, we have often seen how one pompous architect would grab the limelight and the time to so much extent that it would suppress other milder architects who would stand embarassed in a corner.

As an alternative, there is a popular form of presentation called "Pecha-Kucha"  (It loosely means chit-chat in Japanese) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecha_Kucha  Here each presenter is just given 6 minutes 40 seconds to do a presentation. (20 slides x 20 seconds per slide = 400 seconds) Nowadays a lot of cities conduct "Pecha-Kucha" events. It provides a platform for many people to present their works, without any one presenter taking a large slice of the time and thus dictating their presence and philosophy. I think inadvertently, over the last 2 years, we have also re-discovered the merit in conducting MLU in this manner; albeit we give 15 minutes or so per musician/band. It is important that we give due credit and exposure to as many original musicians as possible.

So we do have a good thing going and our format is very well corroborated.
